The posted compensation range of $64.64 - $83.51 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Responsibilities
The Wound Care Coordinator is responsible for the development, coordination, and monitoring of the hospital's Wound Care Program. The Wound Care Coordinator establishes standards of care and
clinical competencies to meet patient needs and training to ensure clinical expertise. The Wound Care Coordinator works collaboratively with the medical staff and provides education to patients, caregivers, and staff on wound, ostomy, and continence care. This position requires a full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Mercy Hospital. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support Mercy Hospital of Folsom's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the quality improvement/process improvement activities.
Job Specific Duties:
- Patient Satisfaction: Is a role model for the hospital's Patient Satisfaction effort, i.e., demonstrates AIDET principles when interacting with customers, subordinates, and colleagues.
- Develops and implements the hospital's Wound Care Program to include patient care protocols, documentation tools, wound care formulary, and WOCN referral criteria.
- Established standards of care, competencies, policies, and procedures in quality, cost-efficient, and effective wound care for all clinical staff.
- Makes recommendations to the medical staff for changes to wound care orders and provides evidence-based research support as needed.
- Provides instruction and guidance, both formally and informally, to staff, and assists in identifying staff learning needs related to wound, ostomy, and continence as appropriate.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- 3 years as a Registered Nurse in an Acute Care setting in the last 5 years.
- RNs with subacute experience may be considered based on the complexity of wound care performed within the subacute setting.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- California RN License
- Within 24 months of hire, the following must be obtained: Wound, Ostomy and Continence Certification (WOCN) or Ostomy Management Specialist Certification (OMS) with Certified Wound
Care Nurse Certification (CWCN).
Preferred:
- Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN)
