Responsibilities
The incumbent's overall supervisory scope of responsibilities is the Sterile Processing unit on a 24 hour basis. In addition the incumbent is to assist the manager with the preparation, maintenance and
monitoring of the budgets and staffing for the area. Responsibility includes appropriate allocation of staff, equipment, and other resources in a cost-effective fashion, and for developing and maintaining standards of care consistent with hospital policies and procedures and the Mission and Philosophy of the organization.
Qualifications
Required:
- 3 years of full-time experience in sterile processing department in an acute medical center - 1 year of which must have been at a supervisory level
- Current Sterile Processing Certification - CSPDS or CSPDT or CSPDT-CBSPD or CST
- Have, or be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program (completion within 2 years) in Business Adm, Nursing or a comparable combination of education and experience
Ability to communicate effectively in English Ability to use computer based programs. Ability to work routinely without direct supervision. Ability to demonstrate
good judgment in daily activities. Ability to understand and implement infection control and hospital safety practices.
