Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Clinical Pharmacy Manager, you will help the facility, providers, and pharmacy staff implement System, Region, and Facility Pharmacy Services initiatives so they can establish and maintain robust clinical pharmacy programs and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Every day you will provide leadership and clinical pharmacy services, mentor staff pharmacists in clinical activities, and educate pharmacy residents and students.

To be successful in this role, you must possess a strong knowledge of Pharmacy Services, applicable laws and regulations, and demonstrate strong project management and change management skills with a high level of motivation and professionalism.

  • Promote long and short-range planning to integrate within the market, Region, and system pharmacy.
  • Work collaboratively with pharmacy peers to standardize clinical pharmacy systems when appropriate.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor pharmacy staff to maximize their scope of practice in providing clinical pharmacy services and scholarly activities.
  • Educate medical staff regarding cost-effective, quality pharmaceutical care based on evidence-based medicine and best practices.
  • Ensure that all clinical pharmacy initiatives are in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Function as a clinical pharmacist, providing both centralized and/or decentralized staffing as needed.
Job Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree
  • Residency completion or three (3) years of clinical experience
  • Active State Pharmacist License in good standing in the state in which the employee works
  • Board Certification (e.g. BCCP, BCPS) required within three (3) years of hire (Note: any incumbents would not be required to obtain board certification)
  • Basic Life Support – Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (BLS-CPR)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Must possess strong knowledge of Pharmacy Services; knowledgeable and skilled in current practice of different pharmacy practice settings; strong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and professional standards; strong project management skills; good strategic planning skills; strong change management skills; must demonstrate personal traits of a high level of motivation; team orientation; professionalism; trust; and place a high value on treating others with dignity and respect.
