Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Outpatient Surgery Nurse provides, coordinates, and directs care to individuals and families using a holistic approach. The nursing process is used as a structured mechanism for critical thinking and problem-solving in providing effective and appropriate care within a safe and confidential environment from admission to discharge. Each RN is responsible for collaborating with members of the healthcare team, providing leadership, personal/professional development, and conducting him/herself professionally.

This position will primarily be located at the Outpatient Surgery Center (Wymark Drive). Must float to the main OR as needed.


Job Requirements

Minimum:

  • Current California RN license
  • One (1) year of Operating room experience in an acute care setting as an RN
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (must be certified through the American Heart Association)
Preferred:
  • Two (2) or more years of Operating room experience in an acute care setting as an RN
  • Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR®)

Built in 1973, Dignity Health Methodist Hospital of Sacramento is committed to providing daily excellence in health care for residents of Sacramento’s southern suburbs, including the Elk Grove, Wilton, and Galt communities. Methodist Hospital is home to a 158-bed acute care facility with 1,120 employees, 283 medical staff, and 29 Emergency Department beds.
Methodist Hospital also owns and operates Bruceville Terrace—a 171-bed skilled nursing and long-term care facility adjacent to the hospital that provides care for the elderly as well as those requiring extended recovery.


The hospital is home to the Family Medicine Residency Program, an accredited and nationally recognized program providing resident physicians with specialty training in primary care family medicine. Together, the hospital and residency program developed a pioneering curriculum addressing the identification, treatment, and support of human trafficking victims, establishing the unique Human Trafficking Medical Home clinic.
