Job Summary and Responsibilities
Are you a skilled ground professional with a passion for transforming outdoor spaces? Mercy Medical Center seeks a dedicated Groundskeeper to maintain our beautiful landscapes, ensuring an inviting and healing environment for all.
What You'll Do:
- Landscape Maintenance: Prepare terrain, apply fertilizers, seed/sod lawns, mow, trim, and repair lawns. Prune trees, trim shrubs, cultivate, plant, and weed gardens/flowerbeds.
- Plant Health: Spray plants and apply nutrients for optimal growth.
- Irrigation Expertise: Install, maintain, and design sprinkler systems.
- Equipment Care: Inspect and perform minor repairs on grounds equipment (mowers, weed eaters, tractors, etc.).
- Team Support: Recordkeeping, deliveries, and assisting with employee training as needed.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 7am - 4pm
Job Requirements
We're Looking For You If:
- Experienced: High School Graduate/GED. Proficient in operating powered equipment (lawn/garden tractors, ditch trenchers, backhoe). Small Caterpillar tractor experience (Preferred).
- Licensed Driver: Valid Oregon Driver's License with a clear driving record.
- Communicative: Strong written/oral communication and basic math skills
- Knowledgeable: Working knowledge of lawn, plant, and shrub care/maintenance
- Skilled: Ability to perform basic equipment maintenance and detect potential issues
