Imaging ROI Specialist
The posted compensation range of $24.00 - $28.24 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Centralized Scheduling Department Supervisor, the Imaging Release of Information Specialist is responsible for administration of the Imaging Release of Information process, policies and legal compliance within Dignity Health Medical Foundation and Dignity Health Advanced Imaging. Facilitates support to patients, physicians, all Dignity Health staff, patient family members, hospital staff and vendors by offering customer service, communication and appropriate distribution of information as it pertains to Release of Information. The Imaging ROI Specialist will also perform a variety of ROI related duties, including, but not limited to; preparing, reviewing and processing PHI requests, patient requests, insurance company requests and highly sensitive requests, such as; subpoenas and limited test results.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting or clerical experience of 1+ years
- High School Diploma/GED
Ability to read and write effectively. Strong computer knowledge. Strong organizational skills. Attention to detail. Must display a high degree of tact and the ability to communicate legal/regulatory requirements in understandable language. Must demonstrate a high degree of skill in human relations and communication with the ability to deal constructively on a one- on-one basis with a wide variety of persons and personalities. Ability to maintain composure in a busy working environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of prior experience in an HIM Department for a healthcare facility or clinic
- Associate Degree or higher in Health Information Management or related field
- Knowledge of medical terminology, classifications, and vocabularies. Prior experience with Picture Archive Communication Systems (PACS)
- Extensive knowledge of HIPAA and Release of Information regulatory mandates.
