Job Summary and Responsibilities
The Surgical Technician is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care through collaborating as a team
member in preparing and participating in surgical procedures by adhering to aseptic technique, utilizing safety
instruments and equipment and applying the principles of anatomy and physiology to a surgical patient. The
surgical technologist acts as a preceptor to less technically prepared employees, students, and others as
indicated. While in office Surgical Technician will be required to attend staff meetings, assist as needed in all
areas of office and will be required to coordinate time off with the office manager.

Use of unit specific equipment
Good telephone and communication skills
Ability to adapt to changes in healthcare technology
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Use of appropriate PPE and safe patient handling devices
Job Requirements
Education:
Graduation from a surgical technologist program through an
approved school or themilitary
