Responsibilities

Position Summary:

  • Provide speech therapy services to adults and geriatric patients including evaluations, planning treatment programs and goals, rendering patient treatments and discharge planning according to the practice and standards of the American Speech and Hearing Association & California Board of Speech Pathology.
  • Provide effective, efficient, and quality care. Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor, Manager and or Director. Applies DIGNITH HEALTH Core Values to the performance of every job duty.

Incumbents in thismposition shall comply with all applicable laws and rules including the Standards of Conduct and policies and procedures that apply to his/her job responsibilities, seek guidance when in doubt, promptly report any potential or suspected violation of Standards of Conduct, policy or procedure or applicable laws/regulations and when requested, assist personnel in investigating all allegations of violation.
  • When called upon, the incumbent shall assist in risk evaluation and work collaboratively with facility/entity leaders to implement, monitor and mitigate risk corrective plans outlined by the Compliance program.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Newly licensed, (see below for licensure).
  • Masters degree or equivalent in Speech Pathology, Communicative Disorders or Communicative Science.
  • Possess a current speech pathology license by the State of California Board of Medical Quality Assurance (or in the case of a CFY, be in the process of licensing).
  • Hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence awarded by the American SpeechLanguage-Hearing Association (or in the case of a CFY, be in the process of obtaining certification) or Must hold ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence and current valid license in Speech Pathology and/or Audiology. (LIC SLP)
  • Current Basic Life Support for healthcare providers (CT CPRBLS)

Preferred:

  • During the externship, experience with adults and geriatric patients with dysphasia preferred. Experience with
    Modified Barium Swallow studies
    preferred.
