Operating Room Coordinator
The posted compensation range of $35.31 - $43.25 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
Position Summary:
- This position is responsible for the operating room front desk duties including inputting charges; scheduling the cases, communication duties associated with the Operating Room schedule and supply requisition, assisting the
Buyer with inventory procurement, rectifying invoices, and maintaining par levels.
- Works with staff, physicians, and physician offices to insure that patients are served in the most timely and efficient manner possible.
- The position covers the desk and deals directly with the offices in regards to the daily schedule and availability of supplies.
- Responsible for producing and distributing reports and schedules as requested and in a timely fashion.
- Ensures a professional and responsive atmosphere by greeting patients, visitors, staff, and physicians promptly
and courteously.
- Refers to each individual by name when appropriate. Screens individuals by requesting to see identification or visitor pass.
- Accurately inputs charges.
- Maintains PAR levels of supplies, assists the Buyer with daily implant usage and replacement. Stocks supplies as
needed.
- Demonstrates current competency in required skills so as to deliver a level of performance consistent with that
outlined in unit specific performance standards.
- Remain aware of posted patient rights within the institution so as to ensure those rights are upheld at all times.
Act as patients advocate as required.
- Develops and maintains good physician and physician office relationships by scheduling cases in a timely and efficient manner and answering phone on second ring.
- Accommodates all requests for service and immediately
Job Requirements
Minimim:
- High School Graduate General Studies and 2 years of experience general secretarial or reception experience
Preferred:
- Hospital experience
