The posted compensation range of $33.35 - $37.49 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Unit Coordinator, you will be a vital caregiver and the central hub, assuming responsibility for patient care processes from newborn to geriatric for a designated time frame. You will directly contribute to safe, therapeutic patient care while serving as the primary receptionist and secretary.
Every day you will support safe patient care through multidisciplinary processes and coordinating unit activities. You will efficiently manage information flow and assist healthcare team members in delivering care across all patient age groups.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, a proactive approach to managing day-to-day operations, and a commitment to providing safe, therapeutic care while working effectively with the entire healthcare team.
- Maintains established hospital/departmental polices procedures, objectives, and quality improvement program and safety standards.
- Provides direct patient care, adjusts processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care with direction from the RN.
- Demonstrates ability to perform selected technical nursing procedures/skills of patient care competently, seeking assistance when appropriate.
- Performs vital signs, and reports abnormal findings to mid level/RN/physician.
- Reports diagnostic data to TN/physician/shift coordinator/supervisor as appropriate.
- Assures licensed nursing staff administrates all medications ordered by midlevel and/or physician. Utilizes nursing care plan appropriately.
Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
Job RequirementsRequired
- Previous experience as a Unit Coordinator II/Tech in an acute care facility
- Basic Life Support - BLS through an American Heart Association provider
Preferred
- Associate Degree
- Prefer over 2 years experience as a Unit Coordinator II/Tech experience in an acute care facility
