The posted compensation range of $43.65 - $49.44 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Surgical Tech, you will help prepare the operating room and surgical team so they can successfully perform a variety of surgical procedures for patients.
Every day you will set up surgical equipment and instruments, assist the surgical team, and ensure a sterile environment. You will be expected to adapt quickly, collaborate effectively within the OR team, and contribute directly to the patient's healing process.
To be successful in this role, you must possess adaptability, a strong team-player mindset, and enthusiasm for supporting complex surgical procedures.
- Assists the surgeon as a scrubbed member of the team by passing instruments, sponges and sutures
- Assists in assembling, preparing, cleaning, adjusting and storing equipment and supplies used in surgeries
- Assists in setting up each case and positions furniture and equipment in operating rooms appropriate to specific surgeries, which includes picking instruments and suture for each case
- Scrubs in and allows adequate time to prepare for each case
- Orders and maintains supplies and stocks supplies in the department as appropriate
- Performs duties of unit coordinators and assists in basic patient care duties such as vital signs and basic hygiene care
Required
- High School Graduate General Studies and One year recent experience in acute care as an operating room scrub tech , upon hire or
- High School GED General Studies and One year recent experience in acute care as an operating room scrub tech , upon hire and
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire (Must be through the American Heart Association)
Preferred
- Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology and Recent experience as a scrub tech in OBOR and nursing assistant or unit secretary experience, upon hire
- Certified Surgical Technologist, upon hire or
- Technologist in Surgery-Certified, upon hire
