The posted compensation range of $41.57 - $47.09 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Surgical Tech, you will help prepare the operating room and surgical team so they can successfully perform a variety of surgical procedures for patients.
Every day you will set up surgical equipment and instruments, assist the surgical team, and ensure a sterile environment. You will be expected to adapt quickly, collaborate effectively within the OR team, and contribute directly to the patient's healing process.
To be successful in this role, you must possess adaptability, a strong team-player mindset, and enthusiasm for supporting complex surgical procedures.
- Assists the surgeon as a scrubbed member of the team by passing instruments, sponges and sutures
- Assists in assembling, preparing, cleaning, adjusting and storing equipment and supplies used in surgeries
- Assists in setting up each case and positions furniture and equipment in operating rooms appropriate to specific surgeries, which includes picking instruments and suture for each case
- Maintains a safe working environment for patient care by following standard and special cleaning procedures. Appraises the operational efficiency of all equipment and takes proper steps to solve existing problems prior to admitting patient
- Scrubs in and allows adequate time to prepare for each case
- Assists in positioning and draping of patients and gowning and gloving of physician and assistants
Job Requirements
REQUIRED:
- High School Graduate or GED
- One year recent experience in the acutecare arena as operating room scrub tech and/or combination of recent education, certification and experience required
- Two years Cardiac Surgery experience required if working in CSOR
PREFERRED:
- Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology
- Two years recent OR experience with Redding area surgeons procedures
- General understanding of anatomy, physiology and sterile and surgical techniques
