The posted compensation range of $24.10 - $34.94 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Under indirect supervision the incumbent offers non-medical services to Center participants and/or families to assess and maximize strengths to assess and help alleviate problems/worries, which may impede optimum use of Center services and/or maintenance of health. The incumbent also is responsible to the Program Director. The incumbent also works closely with Senior Services, Health and Social Services within the agency and throughout the community. The position reports to the Program Director. The position supervises the Social Worker Assistant & Student Interns when available
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Two (2) years experience of working with the elderly/handicapped adults
- Master's degree in social work, nursing, psychology, counseling, gerontology, sociology or related field
- Must have a sense of appreciation of the needs/contributions of the elderly/handicapped adult and demonstrate interest and excitement in
working with the elderly/handicapped adult - Must have the ability to quickly and effectively establish and maintain meaningful relationships with the participants
- Must be personable and warm, with appropriate sense of humor; maintain a team attitude; maintain a personal and professional demeanor compatible with the organizations standards; ability to work effectively with elderly/handicapped
- Must maintain objectivity in doing assessments, evaluations and developing and implementing care plans
- Must work well in group settings
- Knowledge on how to conduct an interview, assess, develop and implement care plans; work with groups and community agencies
- Have an understanding of State regulations
- Must be able to work under periods of pressure and be able to set priorities with a degree of flexibility
Preferred Qualifications:
- Course work in gerontology is preferred
