Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our PT Assistant, you will be a vital clinical support, meticulously implementing physical therapy treatment programs and providing critical feedback toward patient recovery.

Every day, you'll execute individual patient treatment programs developed by the physical therapist, guiding patients through exercises and activities. You'll provide objective feedback on patient and caregiver performance, collaborate with the supervising PT, and contribute directly to rehabilitation goals.

To be successful, you'll combine strong clinical skill implementation with excellent observation, communication, and a compassionate approach, directly contributing to effective physical rehab outcomes.

  • Administers physical therapy modalities and standard procedures as directed by the supervising physical therapist in compliance with an established treatment plan as developed by the physical therapist and the referring physician
  • Completes documentation in the patient's chart which includes the subjective and objective responses and any anticipated changes in the treatment plan. Reviews patient care plan daily and adjusts it appropriately
  • Reviews multidisciplinary care plan daily and adjusts it appropriately which includes requesting patients to be reevaluated per department guidelines
  • Makes appropriate suggestions to the referring physician and case manager for referral to other services/products
  • Instructs the patient and/or family for home program education and rationale for the various aspects of the treatment program and completes appropriate documentation
  • Provides direction and guidance to a Physical Therapy Aide which includes providing appropriate information to ensure continuity of care

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a two-year college program for physical therapists assistants, which has been accredited bythe Committee on Accreditation in Education, American Physical Therapy Association and PT Assistants providing independent casecoverage in Pediatrics will have a minimum of 1 year pediatric experience, upon hire
  • Physical Therapy Assistant: CA, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire (Must be through the American Heart Association)
