The posted compensation range of $30.98 - $35.09 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Perioperative Support Tech, you will perform self-directed activities crucial for the efficiency and smooth operation of the perioperative area(s), contributing to a safe, sterile, and organized surgical environment.
Every day you will inventory, disassemble, clean, reassemble, and maintain OR equipment, while assisting in maintaining a clean OR environment and transporting patients. All tasks will strictly adhere to Standard Precaution guidelines and safety standards.
To be successful, you need exceptional attention to detail, a proactive approach to maintaining the perioperative environment, and a thorough understanding of safety protocols.
- Cleans areas according to environmental standards and department regulations
- Cleans and maintains steam and Steris sterilizers per protocol
- Processes stat instruments according to department standards
- Independently functions in case preparation and distribution of supplies, including gathering positioning equipment and case care, and returning equipment after use
- Sets up the orthopedic fracture tables and positioning devices
- Maintains, initiates and stocks OR rooms
Job Requirements
Required
- High School Graduate/GED or equivalent level of work experience
- One year prior Perioperative Technician experience in an acute care operating room
- Basic Life Support - CPR through American Heart Association
Preferred
- Completion of central sterile/instrument processing course
Ability to independently function in fast paced, demanding environment, implement critical thinking skills and anticipate needs of the department
Ability to read and comprehend physician preference cards and equipment operation instructions
Technical ability to effectively operate and troubleshoot equipment and ability to cross train to core tech and central sterile tech duties
