The posted compensation range of $35.15 - $39.42 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our ED Tech, you will help the Emergency Department's Registered Nurses perform technical patient care on all patient populations so they can ensure accurate and timely medical interventions and maintain efficient department operations.
Every day you will complete essential documentation, collect patient data such as vital signs and I&O, and assist with clinical duties as outlined in hospital policies. You will be expected to perform 12-lead EKGs, respond appropriately to clinical requests, maintain unit supplies, and actively participate in staff development and trainee orientation.
To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum of one year of experience with an EMS provider (or qualify as an EMT), possess excellent computer skills, demonstrate an understanding of crisis intervention, and be able to effectively communicate and collaborate within a dynamic healthcare environment.significantly to timely patient care and a smooth-running ED.
- Completes documentation on unit and patient records in a timely, accurate, and concise manner
- Performs and documents patient data collection which includes vital signs and I & O
- Demonstrates effective response to respiratory/cardiac arrest following departmental guidelines
- Participates in staff development activities for unit and Nursing Division personnel
- Performs EMT and other clinical duties as outlined in departmental and hospital Policy and Procedure manual
- Performs 12 lead EKG per cardiology policy and practice instruction
Required
- High School Diploma/GED
- Minimum one (1) year experience with EMS provider or
- If no qualified candidates apply, and operational conditions exist, the Employer may consider candidates without the required one (1) year experience as an EMT
- Emergency Medical Technician: CA
- Basic Life Support - BLS through an American Heart Association Provider
Preferred
- Associate of Arts related field
