The posted compensation range of $34.52 - $39.33 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
In keeping with Dignity Health healthcare philosophy and core values, under the direction of HIM leadership, the Health Information Technician will be responsible for all HIM related functions to include obtaining discharged patient records, document preparation of paper medical records, scanning of paper medical records, EMR Quality Control process, EMR Validation process, Medical Record Analysis and Demographic verification.
As our HIM Clerk, you will manage patient health information and medical records, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and integrity for patient care. Every day you will retrieve, file, and organize patient records (physical/electronic), ensuring completeness and confidentiality. You'll process information requests, verify identities, assist providers with access, and conduct quality checks on scanned documents. Responsibilities include updating demographics, handling correspondence, and responding to inquiries per privacy regulations. To be successful, you will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in HIM systems/office software. Excellent communication and customer service, coupled with a deep understanding of HIPAA and HIM principles, are essential.
Job Requirements- High School Diploma or GED.
- Knowledge in business English, basic math, medical terminology, and anatomy.
- A minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in Health Information Management.
- One (1) year of electronic record processing, analysis, and/or suspension.
