Responsibilities

Job Summary
Assists in the analysis and administration of union compensation, to include all base pay increases outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.  Evaluates jobs, provides recommendations for wage scales and performs associated analysis.  Ensures requests for pay adjustments comply with Collective Bargaining Agreement.  Produces routine reports for analytical support.

  • Assists in providing analytic support for union compensation program management, including but not limited to: across the board increases, step movement, new contract implementation, residual group implementation and ad-hoc union compensation projects.  Supports the delivery, education and communication of union compensation programs. 
  • Assists in ensuring the accuracy of union compensation-related data that is maintained within company information systems by conducting periodic audits, identifying anomalies, and researching and correcting data errors.  Participates in special projects as assigned and supports process improvement initiatives.
  • Analyzes survey data and internal data and provides salary and wage scale recommendations to ensure internal equity and market alignment.
  • Assists in maintaining the accuracy of union compensation databases.  Responds to routine inquiries regarding wage grids and reports.

  • Knowledge of features, functions and operations of specific human resources (HR) systems or applications; ability to design, implement, and operate specific HR systems in the organization.
  • Knowledge of the value of self-motivation and initiative; ability and willingness to seek out work and the drive to accomplish goals.
  • Knowledge of salary planning tools and methods, job evaluation techniques, and market salary trends; ability to design and implement salary programs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
Experience 
Two (2) years compensation, finance or analytics experience. 

Education 
Bachelor's degree or five (5) years of related job or industry experience in lieu of degree.

Special Skills 
Demonstrated proficiency in Excel using quantitative analysis, pivot tables, dashboards and advanced formulas.  Strong quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills.
