The posted compensation range of $18.00 - $23.30 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Nursing Assistant Float III you will help patients receive direct patient care, including assistance with activities of daily living, so they can maintain patient safety and receive care according to established nursing standards.
Every day you will provide patient care according to established nursing standards, policies, and procedures. You will be expected to recognize and communicate abnormal findings and/or changes in patient status to the RN and provide emotional and supportive care for patients and families.
To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate meticulous attention to your duties, keen observation skills regarding patient conditions, and a receptive attitude towards coaching. You embrace continuous learning and are eager to enhance your caregiving abilities.
- Maintains patient safety.
- Maintains a clean, healthy and quiet environment.
- Assists RN with patient assessment and planning of care.
- Provides and/or assists patient in the activities of daily living.
- Assists in promoting patient comfort, i.e. positioning, providing restful environment, measures to reduce pain.
- Recognizes and communicates abnormal findings and/or changes in patient status to RN.
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certificate and one of the following:
- Current AZ CNA certification;
- Current AZ LNA;
- Documentation of successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training program;
- Documentation of successful completion of first-year curriculum in an accredited RN nursing program;
- Six (6) months of NA experience; or
- Current EMT certification with six (6) months of patient care experience.
- Effective and courteous telephone skills.
- Ability to operate copier, scanner, and fax machines.
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, providing excellent customer service.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities/tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- Acute care experience, electronic medical record (EMR) experience, or Cerner experience.
