Security Officer
The posted compensation range of $18.00 - $22.41 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Security Officer, you will be expected to provide a reasonable safe and secure environment for all who enter Dignity Health's properties and to assure the physical security of buildings and grounds. It is expected that the Security Officer will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Dignity Health's Core Values and Humankindness. You will also support Dignity Health's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the quality improvement/process improvement activities.
- Patrol on foot and by vehicle the facility and grounds, all perimeter buildings and posts
- Regulate parking by employees and visitors and escorting employees
Responds to calls for assistance in a timely and prudent manner using due regard and exercising Safety Protocols at all times. Assistance calls include, but are not limited to: control of violent or unruly patients and visitors, crimes committed on hospital property
Report and document all accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety/fire hazards and other security related situations.
Job Requirements
Minimum:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Six (6) months experience as a Security Officer in a hospital or healthcare setting, prior law enforcement or military service; or One (1) year experience as a Security Officer.
- Valid AZ State Driver's License.
- American Heart Association-issued BLS card within 90 days of hire.
Preferred:
- International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Training for Healthcare Security Officer.
