Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Mammo Technologist, you will play a critical role in early breast cancer detection and women's health within our state-of-the-art imaging facility. You will be responsible for performing high-quality mammography and other breast imaging procedures, utilizing advanced CAD systems and mammography equipment in various settings, including mobile units. 

Every day you will meticulously position patients for mammograms, update patient history files, and accurately document examination details, including technique factors and billing procedures. You will ensure proper radiation safety practices for patients and staff, utilize appropriate protective devices, and maintain equipment in optimal operating order.

To be successful in this role, you will be a graduate of an approved Radiological Technology Program. You must hold current licensure as a Medical Radiographer (MRAD:AZ) and Mammography Radiology Tech (MAMMRAD:AZ), along with ARRT certification in Mammography (RTM). A minimum of three years of mammography experience is required, along with a strong familiarity with ACR, FDA, and state mammography standards.

  • Displays competency operating CAD system and mammography equipment including performing procedures in the department, in the operating room, and on a mobile basis.
  • Displays a thorough knowledge of anatomy, positioning an of various isotopes utilized. Displays competency injecting isotopes, if required. Updates patient examination history file, records unusual conditions/limitations, documents examination time, room number and technique factors. Comletes xamination and billing procedures as required.
  • Utilizes good radiation safety practices for patients, self and others by use of available radiation protection
    devices. Ensure badges are worn appropriately and readings are available.
  • Accurately marks all radiographs with R's and L's. Accurately marks whether an image is upright or supine (when applicable), assures that the patient information is clearly visible. Performs visual preventive safety inspections.
Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduate from an approved Radiological Technology Program
  • Minimum of three (3) years of mammography experience
  • Medical Radiographer: AZ
  • Mamo Radiology Tech: AZ
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT or
  • Registered Technologist Computed Tomography or
    • American Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPR


Preferred

  • Familiar with ACR, FDA and State mammography standards
