The posted compensation range of $19.01 - $24.24 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Family Birthing Center Secretary Scheduler, you will orchestrate a seamless and efficient care process for patients and providers by coordinating appointments and managing schedules.
Every day you will schedule patient appointments and coordinate multiple provider schedules for medical procedures, tests, and studies. You'll ensure timely scheduling through effective communication, accurately gather and verify patient insurance and documentation, process reports, and provide exceptional customer service to patients via phone and in-clinic assistance.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and excellent communication and reasoning skills to manage scheduling complexities and patient inquiries, always striving for accuracy and efficiency.
- Greets, assists and directs families, the general public, medical and hospital staff as needed to support the unit and provide excellent patient/customer service.
- Updates the FBC Enhanced Tracking Shell and verifies patient admit status.
- Accurately schedules procedures for department specific needs with physician offices while assessing block scheduling, time requirements, equipment needs, conflicts, available staff, and anesthesia coverage.
- Interacts closely with all staff, Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, Physician office staff, medical representatives and related ancillary departments to ensure all scheduling needs are met.
- Maintains complete and full knowledge of the scheduling application, including the block scheduling policy to ensure compliance of departmental specific guidelines and rules.
Required
- One year secretarial/scheduling experience and
- High School diploma/GED
Preferred
- One year secretarial/scheduling experience in a surgical setting
- Order entry and experience with scheduling software
- One year of college coursework
