The posted compensation range of $47.41 - $70.52 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Sonographer, you will utilize advanced sonographic equipment to record detailed images of blood, organs, tissues, and bodily masses, including unborn fetuses, providing critical visual data for diagnosis and prenatal care.
Every day you will directly interact with patients, explaining procedures, answering questions, and preparing them for scans. You will meticulously operate sonographic equipment, adjusting settings and patient positions to ensure clear, diagnostic images. You will monitor and care for patients to ensure their safety and comfort, select and examine images for pathologies, and present preliminary findings to Physicians.
To be successful in this role, you will possess excellent patient service and communication skills, sharp eyesight, and meticulous attention to detail. You will demonstrate strong technical proficiency, sound judgment, and advanced decision-making skills to effectively capture and interpret sonographic data, ensuring optimal diagnostic support.
- Performs exams based on anatomy and patient habitus per exam protocol. Completes worksheet accurately, puts images on line within a timely manner.
- Performs exams proficiently in ED, OR, interdepartmently and portable throughout the hospital.
- Demonstrates competency in performing procedures as reflected in the exam protocol as well as complies with performance of two patient identifier and gel in/gel out. Produces high quality imaging, provides legible, accurate and complete documentation to physician. Prepares patients for pending exams to ensure a high quality exam.
- Demonstrates proficiency in locating patient information in Cerner, Dominator as needed in the performance/dictation of exam. Reviews daily the unread list for timely dictation and report turn around.
- Accurately, thoroughly and timely completes hospital/department forms per protocol i.e. incident reports, side/site forms, maintenance request forms etc. Completes exam(s) in Cerner, enters notes or other required documentation Into Cerner, DR or other computer systems.
- Stays current with department/hospital protocols/policies by checking email, reading and initialing the communication book, attending staff meetings and in-services, and attending other department/hospital activities. Demonstrates proficiency with processes/protocols allowing participation in training of new employees. Completes LMS modules as required.

- High School Graduate and Registered with ARDMS and or RVT, upon hire
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
Preferred
- Five years ultrasound experience and
- Additional certifications
