Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Bring your passion for oncology and patient care to the outpatient infusion center at Dignity Health Cancer Institute at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. As a pharmacy technician you will be part of a growing program on the forefront of cancer treatment. We are looking for someone that is a great communicator, detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to problem solve through critical thinking. 

Pharmacy technicians work under the supervision of a pharmacist.  They perform drug distribution activities including: servicing Omnicell machines and delivering medications to the clinics and infusion suite.  They also perform sterile and non-sterile compounding of medications, including hazardous drugs, following USP <795>, USP <797> and USP <800>.   Pharmacy technicians will be cross-trained to work in the areas of outpatient infusion, retail and research.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • One 6 months of work experience in hospital or infusion pharmacy practice.

  • Current Pharmacy Technician certification.

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician in the State of Arizona.

  • High School Diploma

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with handling and dispensing of parenteral chemotherapy.

  • Experience with investigational protocols and medications.
