Responsibilities
As our Oncology Charge Nurse at Dignity Health, you'll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Every interaction is an opportunity to improve your understanding of a patient's needs, the needs of your nursing team, or the needs of your unit. You'll advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department's operational goals and objectives.
To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You're an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.

- Mentors others in areas such as competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, National Patient Safety Goals, and participation in inservice education.

- Prepares work schedules, assigns personnel.
- Coordinates patient flow on the unit to facilitate the provision of timely and effective care
- Demonstrates appropriate prioritization and critical thinking skills in critical situations
- Provides direct patient care as appropriate to meet the needs of the patients and department.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Two (2) years RN experience within applicable clinical specialty and/or charge nurse experience
- AZ RN license
- BSN
- AHA BLS and ACLS
- Skilled Working Knowledge of the EMR and hospital systems.
Preferred:
- Charge Nurse experience

Committed to providing the highest level of patient satisfaction, our 32-Bed Medical-Surgical-Oncology-Telemetry unit, that includes 12 monitored beds, provides unique cross-training opportunities for both experienced and new graduate nurses within this one unit. Outstanding teamwork with low turnover, this unit provides nurses the opportunity to work 12 hour shifts with nurse to patient ratios of 1:4 on days/nights with a Clinical Leader to provide support throughout both shifts. We are seeking Registered Nurses (RN) to coordinate, supervise and implement patient care based on competence, professional expertise, knowledge and evidence-based practice.
