Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Medical Staff Administrative professional, you will perform complex and specialized administrative tasks with a high degree of autonomy, directly supporting our Physician Services department. This key role involves coordinating a variety of programs, assisting with budget preparation, and ensuring meticulous record-keeping and compliance with all applicable regulatory agency standards, particularly within medical staff activities and physician credentialing. You will be essential in maintaining ongoing knowledge of medical staff status and communicating vital information while upholding strict confidentiality.

Every day you will manage and organize meetings, streamline paperwork and filing systems, and coordinate and write original content for the Medical Staff Newsletter and Physician Lounge displays. You will actively monitor physician credentialing files, track progress for Focused Professional Practice Evaluations (FPPE), and facilitate all processes related to physician appointments and medical staff applications. Your interactions with physicians, administrators, and directors will be crucial for project success, ensuring accurate and compliant operations under delegated agreements and NCQA standards.

To be successful in this role, you will possess a strong background in medical staff services administration or a related healthcare support function, with experience demonstrating exceptional organizational and communication skills. You should display the ability to manage complex tasks independently, balance conflicting demands, and exercise keen judgment in handling sensitive medical staff issues and credentialing legal implications. A commitment to regulatory adherence is essential for this high-impact administrative position.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Graduate General Studies or
  • High School GED General Studies.and 
  • One to three years as a medical staff services professional or related experience (quality, risk management, medical records, physician relations, physician practice management).

Preferred

Four to six years related experience (quality, risk management, medical records, physician relations, physician practice management) strongly preferred.

  • Bachelors Degree.and
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS).or
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).
  • Google Workspace and Microsoft Suite skills.
