Responsibilities

Job Summary / Purpose
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and manage projects / programs within our Financial Services department, focusing on accounts payable (AP) and payroll functions. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing key stakeholders, and ensuring the successful delivery of complex projects. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for driving process improvements, implementing business transformation solution driven by technology, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The projects / programs may be executed in traditional waterfall, agile or hybrid model. 


Essential Key Job Responsibilities
Project Leadership and Management 
Lead end-to-end project management for accounts payable and payroll initiatives, ensuring the effective execution of new financial services capabilities, process improvements, or transformations.
Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and financial services strategies.
Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, resources, and budgets, and track project progress using appropriate project management tools like ServiceNow
Manage and mitigate project risks, addressing issues proactively to avoid delays or disruptions.
Manage requirements elaboration, design alignment and implantation of system-related activities with IT and other cross-functional teams.


Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with key stakeholders, including finance teams, IT, vendors, external auditors, and senior leadership, to ensure successful project delivery.
Prepare and present regular updates, progress reports, and performance metrics to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
Ensure clear communication of project milestones, challenges, and successes to all stakeholders.

Manage relationships with third-party vendors ensuring timely delivery and adherence of agreed Project Charter


Process Optimization & Improvement
Drive the continuous improvement of accounts payable and payroll processes through the analysis of workflows, technology adoption, and efficiency gains.
Lead process mapping and redesign initiatives to enhance accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency within AP and payroll functions.
Identify opportunities for automation or system integration to streamline financial processes.


Change Management
Oversee change management efforts, ensuring smooth adoption of new systems, tools, and processes by relevant teams.
Provide training, documentation, and support to staff and stakeholders during transitions to new processes or systems.
Promote a culture of innovation and accountability within the financial operations team.


Team Collaboration
Lead and mentor project teams, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure project milestones are achieved.
Collaborate with finance, HR, IT, and other internal teams to ensure projects are aligned with business objectives and financial goals.


Program Management Office 
Lead design of PMO processes and tools for end to end project delivery like demand intake, project manager assignment, stage gate meetings for major projects and publish metrics on overall project delivery for Financial Services department 
Mentor and train other project managers / analysts on project management functions 
Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education and Experience 
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma) is a plus.; significant work experience with healthcare finance technology, including software implementations, system optimization, transformation, and change management experience, especially AP and Payroll. Experience with large-scale ERP implementations, AP automation tools, or payroll platforms

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of broad finance and business technology experience including in-depth knowledge of technology-enabled financial operations and processes in large organizations covering AP and Payroll.
  • Proven track record of leading complex projects related to financial systems, process optimization, or digital transformations.
  • In-depth understanding of AP and/or payroll processes, regulatory requirements, and financial reporting standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to support ongoing strategic initiatives through courageous and resilient leadership
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
