Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Pharmacy Clinical Specialist in Solid Organ Transplant with Abdominal Organ focus, you will help patientsdeliver and document pharmaceutical care so they can safely and effectively complete the medication use process (selecting, prescribing, dispensing, administration and monitoring of medications).

Every day you will provide clinical direction for the pharmacy and act as a pharmacy liaison. You will be expected to actively participate in inpatient rounding and outpatient clinic services, drug therapy management, research/quality improvement activities, and perform order verification and kinetics consults, focusing on the kidney/liver service.

To be successful in this role, you must provide direct patient care and transplant education, act as a pharmaceutical consultant to provide drug information to physicians and nurses, and actively participate on patient care rounds with providers in a collaborative practice model.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduate degree in pharmacy
  • Current Arizona pharmacist license in good standing
  • PGY1 Pharmacy Residency
  • American Heart Association-issued Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CT CPRBLS)
  • ACLS


Preferred

  • PGY2 Residency in Solid Organ Transplant, Critical Care or Internal Medicine
  • Two or more years of acute clinical pharmacy experience highly preferred
  • BPS Board Certification (BCPS or equivalent)
  • ACLS Certification 
  • Strong clinical pharmacy skills
  • Experience in precepting both pharmacy residents within an ASHP accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency program and APPE students from ACPE accredited Colleges of Pharmacy
  • Experience with Cerner Millennium
