Job Summary:

As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work under the direct supervision of our licensed Physical Therapist, delivering appropriate rehabilitation treatment and/or maintenance therapy programs as assigned. Your contributions will be vital in helping our residents achieve their rehabilitation goals, always adhering to established legal, state, and federal standards and best practices.

Essential Functions:

  • Implement Personalized Treatment Plans: Execute physical therapy modalities and interventions for individual residents as outlined in their personalized treatment plans, meticulously designed by the Physical Therapist, ensuring all care is in accordance with physical therapy standards.
  • Monitor and Document Patient Progress: Observe, accurately record, and effectively report each patient's condition, progress, and reaction to treatment to the supervising Physical Therapist. This detailed documentation is crucial for optimizing care and maintaining physical therapy standards.
  • Facilitate Coordinated Care: Collaborate with nursing staff to thoughtfully schedule patient therapy sessions, seamlessly integrating them into their daily activities to maximize participation and minimize disruption.
  • Assist with Adaptive Equipment: Expertly remove and replace braces, splints, and slings from patients before and after treatment, ensuring their comfort, safety, and proper use of adaptive equipment.
  • Champion Safety Standards: Proactively maintain the highest safety standards for the protection of all patients, assisting personnel, and yourself, fostering a secure and healthy therapeutic environment.
  • Engage in Team Collaboration: Actively attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested, contributing to the continuous improvement of our rehabilitation services and facility-wide initiatives.
  • Contribute to Overall Success: Perform other duties as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to the overall success of the department and organization.

Job Requirements

  • Educational: A high school diploma or equivalent is a must
