Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Communications Specialist will be responsible for managing tasks, as outlined in communication plans, in order to effectively meet strategic goals, while conveying an organizational message. Assists the Marketing Director in planning and conducting public relations programs and communications designed to create and maintain favorable public image for St Anthony Hospital-Pendleton OR. Represents St Anthony Hospital during community projects and at public, social, and business gatherings.

Essential Functions:

  • Assists with development and communication of information designed to keep the public informed of employer's programs, accomplishments, or point of view.
  •  Arranges for public relations efforts in order to meet needs, objectives, and policies of the employer. 
  • Assist with research and writing documents for a variety of communications vehicles, including employee relations communication, company newsletters and websites and/or special projects. 
  • The position requires creative thinking, and an ability to develop and unify information from a variety of sources and be able to see the "big picture" through the assistance of Senior Management and Corporate Communications. 
  • Research data, website development, social media posts, create ideas, write copy, lay out artwork, contact media representatives, or represent employer directly before the general public. Confer with production and support personnel to coordinate production of television or radio advertisements and on-air promotions. May disseminate facts and information about organization's activities or programs to the general public. 
  • Positively promote and clearly communicate information that can range from simple, to complex, to a varied audience, choosing from a variety of methods that will best communicate the message.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree
  • OR an equivalent amount of experience that demonstrates the requisite knowledge and skills required for the position may also be considered  in lieu of the Associate's Degree

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be a strong self-starter and possess the ability to work independently. Must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills as well as ability to set priorities and multi-task

Preferred Qualification:

  • Marketing, digitial marketing, SEO expertise
  • Must be able to communicate effectively through written and spoken English 
  • Must be proficient in the use of computers and common marketing and business applications
  • Demonstrable ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines.
  • Has experience in creating videos, slide shows, booklets, informational flyers, etc.
  • Preparees mailers and brochures by formatting content and graphics; arranging printing and internet packages.
  • Provide marketing tracking and research information by collecting, analying, and summarizing date and trends
