Job Summary and Responsibilities

Performs a variety of technical and supportive patient care tasks to assist attending anesthesiologists, residents and nurse anesthetists in performing anesthetic procedures for patients ranging from infancy to geriatrics; Performs routine and delegated duties according to department policy.

1. Assist anesthesia providers with physiological monitoring of patients, notifying the anesthesia providers of abnormal changes in vital signs and physical appearance of the patient

  2. Clean anesthesia machines, monitors and equipment following procedures established by Infection Control

  3. Stock anesthesia supplies in all anesthetizing locations, including ploss carts, fiber optic carts, emergency airway bags and any other anesthesia supply location

  4. Obtain supplies and equipment as requested by anesthesia providers

  5. Assist with patient laboratory tests and results, including but not limited to, ABGs, ACTs and other point of care tests

  6. Obtain blood products and pharmaceuticals assisting with preparation and delivery;  maintain immediate availability to assist in routine and emergency procedures

Job Requirements

*High School Diploma/GED  

*One (1) year of experience

St. Luke's Health - Patients Medical Center provides inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services to residents of Pasadena, Deer Park, La Porte, Baytown, and Clear Lake. The facility includes 53 medical/surgical beds, eight ICU beds and three endoscopy rooms, and offers a range of primary and specialized services—wound care, general surgery, gastroenterology, occupational health, heart and vascular, women’s services, diagnostic imaging, outpatient rehab services, and sleep disorders.
