Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Athletic Trainer - Outreach, you will perform a variety of duties involved in the treatment and prevention of injuries, and in the care, evaluation, and rehabilitation of athletes and/or active individuals involved in sports and fitness within our outreach programs.

Every day you will provide athletic training services under the direction of the team physician, ensuring compliance with the Colorado athletic training practice act and National Athletic Training Association Board of Certification, often with minimal or no supervision.

To be successful in this role, you will possess comprehensive athletic training expertise, strong independent judgment, excellent communication skills for patient education and collaboration with physicians, and a dedication to promoting the health and recovery of active individuals.

  • Provides Athletic Training services to contracted specialty groups with active CommonSpirit agreements.
  • Completes evaluation and treatment of medical and musculoskeletal pathology consistent with the scope and practice.
  • Provides emergency care within the athletic trainer scope of practice.
  • Delivers medical care in a positive, caring, and empathetic manner while working to assure all patient questions are answered in a helpful manner.
  • Accurately documents the results of evaluations, rehabilitation progress, and other medical interventions.
  • Performs education and counseling of athletes/coaches on sports-related health topics.

This role with help cover the soccer teams. 

Job Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training
  • One (1) year experience as an Athletic Trainer
  • National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATABOC) Certification, must hold licensure by the Colorado DORA or be eligible to be licensed in the State of Colorado
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)

Preferred

  • Minimum one (1) year of Athletic Training experience
