The posted compensation range of $33.51 - $48.58 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. The Education Specialist plays a vital role in supporting education initiatives and priorities of CHI Health. This position is responsible for facilitating the acquisition of skills, knowledge and competencies among staff. This position serves as the training center coordinator and site coordinator, abiding by the American Heart Association. The role will promote evidence-based practice and implement effective adult teaching strategies. In addition, the education specialists provide support for the LMS system, meeting market needs.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates and oversees life support for Omaha and Lincoln.
- Coordinates and teaches BLS, ACLS and PALS classes.
- Serves as training site coordinator for CHI Health, abiding by the regulations required by the American Heart Association.
- Actively seeks out evidence based practice and findings and applies to clinical excellence and education.
- Implements adult teaching strategies: Utilizing a variety of teaching methods, the incumbent will cater to the diverse learning needs of nursing staff and ensure effective knowledge transfer.
- Facilitates education initiatives and priorities, including delivery of education programs, workshops and other learning opportunities.
- Collaborates with the centralized team and key stakeholders providing support for the LMS following internal procedures. Assists with documentation, course assignment, ILT management and reports.
- Coordinates and supports other clinical education programs, aligning with initiatives and priorities.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience | Associates Degree in Nursing, BSN preferred. 3 years clinical experience. |
Required Licensure and Certifications | Active RN licensure in the state of Nebraska, Iowa, or nurse licensure compact. AND BLS required, ACLS/PALS required within 6 months of hire. BLS, PALS; ACLS Instructor required within 6 months of hire |
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training | - Minimum three years relevant nursing experience. - Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written). - Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. - Knowledge and application of nursing skills. - Ability to critically think in complex situations. |
