Responsibilities
In keeping with the Dignity Health core values the Respiratory Therapist III actively participates in the delivery of Pulmonary Medicine Services.
Qualifications
- Current California licensed RCP CRTT or RRT with three (3) years experience in respiratory therapy including two (2) years experience in critical care and ventilator management
- Current BLS/CPR ACLS and NRP certifications
- PALS certification within three (3) months of employment
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPR instructor or EKG training preferred
Special Skills:
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of current trends in performance of respiratory therapies.
- Demonstrates proficient technical skills in the performance of respiratory therapies as well as core & specialty competencies.
- After 12 months demonstrates ability to take on charge therapist responsibilities as required without direct supervision from Unit Manager.
- Demonstrates ability to work as part of a clinical team in dynamic or critical situations.
- Demonstrates ability to participate in the patient's interdisciplinary plan of care & education
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills and acts as a clinical resource for other ancillary or medical staff.
- Demonstrates ability & critical thinking skills in assessing & treating ventilator emergency room & critical care patients.
- Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
- Demonstrates advanced and proficient technical skills in performance of respiratory therapies utilized in all patient care areas including critical care and/or NICU.
- Establishes effective working relationships with other departments medical staff and co-workers; treats public courteously tactfully and professionally.
