Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions.
Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.
To excel, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.
- Transfers and positions patients.
- Performs diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with department standards and in keeping with the orders of the referring physician.
- Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety procedures.
- Accepts responsibility for placing exams in PACS, is able to print images and burn CDs as needed.
- Interviews patients for pertinent medical history and obtains consents on patients prior to performing studies as required.
- Uses sterile technique and prevents cross-contamination.
- Assists in performing of first aid as necessary.
- Assists the physician in administering radiopaque material.
Required
- Less than 6 months experience as Radiologic Technologist.
- Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire and
- Medical Radiographer: CA, upon hire and
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
- Fluoroscopy Radiology Tech: CA, within 6 - months
