The posted compensation range of $27.25 - $38.49 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Medical Assistant, you will ensure smooth daily operations for your patients and the medical team. You can expect to support multiple patients daily, depending on physician availability.
Every day, you will proactively prepare patient charts, assist with patients exams or procedure and relay physician instructions, administer physician-directed medication and perform accurate vital sign measurements, manage medical records (charts and EMR), communicate patient concerns to providers, and collaborate with physicians, insurance, and pharmacies for medication authorizations and refills.
As a Float Medical Assistant you will be assigned to various clinic locations based upon business needs.
To be successful in this role, you must have an enthusiasm to help others and the ability to work efficiently and provide empathy for our patients.
Required
- High School Graduate or High School GED
- Satisfactory completion of a formal Medical Assistant program pursuant to the Division of Allied Health Professions or military training that is equivalent to an accredited Medical Assistant program (determination by DHMF H.R. department in conjunction with the State Division of Allied Health Professions.)
- Basic Life Support - CPR
Preferred
- Six (6) month's experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Assistant preferred.Six (6) month's experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Office Receptionist preferred; or an equivalent amount of experience in a high-volume customer service role in another industry/environment; or 6 months experience as a Phone Receptionist orHealth Information Associate within DHMF.
