The posted compensation range of $32.61 - $40.74 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Clinical Tech, you will provide essential direct and indirect patient care support, significantly contributing to smooth clinical operations and a safe environment. Working under direct supervision, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the patient experience and care delivery.
Every day you will perform clinical support tasks specific to your area, such as assisting with ADLs and vital signs, setting up surgical instruments, or collecting lab specimens. You will maintain equipment, stock supplies, and ensure patient comfort and safety, communicating effectively within the healthcare team.
To be successful in this role, you will possess a high school diploma and relevant certifications (e.g., CNA, BLS), along with a strong desire to contribute to patient care. Your excellent communication, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical setting will be vital.
- Demonstrates competency in performing crutch fitting based on size. Measurement: Observation, Accuracy.
- Demonstrates successful application of arm sling for both adult and pediatric patients. Measurement: Observation, Accuracy.
- Demonstrates competency in therapeutically bandaging arms, legs with ace bandages. Measurement: Observation, Accuracy.
- Demonstrates competency in performance, ordering and documentation of EKG's. Measurement: Observation, Accuracy.
- Demonstrates competency in the procedure of phlebotomy according to hospital standards.Measurement: Observation, Accuracy.
- Order lab work, respiratory orders, and EKG's via patient care system appropriately and successfully. Measurement: Documentation, Minimal errors, Accuracy, Timeliness.
- Performs daily stock room supply check to ensure adequate stock for patient care. Measurement: Observation, Feedback, Inventory.
- Partners with nursing, medical and respiratory staff to assist in the performance of patient procedures (i.e. gastric lavage, stabilizing extremities for suturing, etc). Measurmeent: Observation, Feedback, Patient care.
- Make frequent rounds to ensure adequate patient communication and comfort.Measurement: Observation, Feedback. 1.10 Greets pt. on arrival, writes time of arrival, pt. name and general complaint on log sheet. Measurement: Observation, Accuracy.
- Advises triage nurse of patient's arrival if pt. in emergent category. Measurement: Observation, Accuracy.
- Assists pt into wheelchair if indicated.Measurement: Observation.
- Demonstrates competency in providing basic first aid and applying ice bags as indicated. Measurement: Observation, Accuracy.
- Demonstrates competency in maintaining pt confidentiality according to hospital standards. Measurement: Observation, Accuracy.
- Demonstrates ability to serve as communication advocate for pt's and families.Measurement: Observation, Accuracy.
- Provides guests with hospital resource phone numbers and directions. (For outpt services). Measurement: Observation, Accuracy.
- Assists with traffic control for pt's and families entering main ER doors. Measurement: Observation, Accuracy.
- Alerts housekeeping if waiting room needs cleaning. Measurement: Observation, Feedback.
- Demonstrates ability to recognize potentially dangerous or violent situations and alerts security if indicated. Measurement: Observation, Feedback.
Job Requirements
Required
- Six (6) months recent hospital experienceas a CNA, CT or EMT and
- Phlebotomist: CA, upon hire and
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
Preferred
- Successful completion of Clinical Technician Program or related work experience
