Clinical Aide - Patient Transportation

St. John's Regional Medical Center

We are currently seeking a reliable and empathetic Clinical Aide to join our healthcare team. As a Clinical Aide you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and comfortable transfer of patients within our medical facility. Your responsibilities will include transporting patients to and from various departments while providing a supportive and compassionate experience.


Responsibilities
  • Safely transport patients to different areas of the hospital for scheduled appointments, tests, and procedures.
  • Ensure proper patient identification and verify destination with medical staff.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals, maintaining a caring and respectful demeanor.
  • Maneuver and operate transport equipment, such as wheelchairs and stretchers, with safety and efficiency.
  • Assist patients in and out of beds, chairs, and other transport devices as needed.
  • Collaborate with nursing and other healthcare staff to prioritize patient transport needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of transport equipment.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma.
  • Hospital experience working with patient transportation preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)

This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
