Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Referral Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing patient access to care by facilitating seamless coordination between clinical departments, providers, and patients. You will serve as a key administrative partner, ensuring that internal and external referrals are managed with precision to enhance the overall patient experience. By bridging the gap between referring clinicians and specialty care teams, you will help maintain continuity of care and ensure that essential documentation is accurately routed across our healthcare network.
Every day you will manage complex referral work queues within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, validating pre-authorizations and ensuring all orders meet clinical standards. You will act as a dedicated patient advocate, communicating with patients and representatives to gather necessary demographic information and coordinate appointment preferences. Your daily responsibilities will also include collaborating with revenue cycle and clinical staff, identifying potential access barriers, and tracking performance metrics to ensure efficient referral management and full regulatory compliance.
To be successful in this role, you will possess at least one year of healthcare-related experience, specifically involving medical scheduling and EMR utilization. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite and maintain a foundational knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations. With your strong verbal and written communication skills and commitment to exceptional customer service, you will thrive in our collaborative, fast-paced environment while supporting our mission to provide high-quality, accessible care.

- High School Graduate /GED and Minimum of one year healthcare related experience, preferably in a position involving scheduling and EMR utilization, upon hire and
