Responsibilities
The Pelvic Health Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing individualized treatment programs for patients experiencing pelvic floor dysfunctions and related musculoskeletal conditions. This role focuses on the outpatient setting, providing evidence-based care to improve patients' function, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life. The therapist collaborates with a multidisciplinary team and educates patients in self-management strategies and preventative care.
Conduct comprehensive evaluations of pelvic floor function, including assessment of musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and functional limitations.
Develop and implement personalized treatment plans addressing conditions such as urinary/fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, pregnancy/postpartum-related issues, and sexual dysfunction.
Utilize manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, therapeutic exercise, biofeedback, and other modalities as appropriate.
Document all patient interactions, progress, and outcomes in compliance with clinic and regulatory standards.
Educate patients on pelvic health anatomy, posture, body mechanics, and home exercise programs.
Collaborate with referring providers and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
Maintain current knowledge of pelvic health practices, continuing education, and certifications.
Contribute to program development, community outreach, and patient education initiatives related to pelvic health and rehabilitation.
Qualifications
Required Licensure and Certification: Active physical therapy license in the State of Nebraska. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
