The posted compensation range of $16.83 - $23.77 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Peer Specialist, you will provide invaluable support, encouragement, and guidance to individuals drawing upon your own lived experience with mental health or substance use challenges.
Experience in coping with life events successfully despite having a mental health challenge.
- Help individuals in setting and achieving their own goals.
- Maintain high standards of personal conduct. Teach and role model the value of every individual’s recovery experience. Conduct self in a manner that fosters one's own recovery. Share with consumers and colleagues personal recovery stories from mental health challenges. Be able to identify and describe the supports that promote recovery.
- Respect the confidentiality, rights, and dignity of the individuals served at all times.
Job Requirements
Required
- High School Graduate or GED
- Must have experience with their own personal mental health challenges.
Preferred
- Experience as a Peer Support Specialist or working in a Psychiatric or Human Services setting and
