Location: CUMC-Bergan General Surgery Clinic

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8a-5p, No weekends, No holidays, & No call

What You'll Be Doing:

As our Medical Assistant, you'll be the friendly and efficient cornerstone of our clinic's operations, ensuring our surgeons can focus on what they do best and our patients feel confident and cared for. Your day will be a dynamic mix of:

  • You'll be the first friendly face many of our patients see! You'll expertly greet them, take accurate vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, etc.), and skillfully prepare them for their exams and procedures.
  • Assisting our surgeons with in-office procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are readily available and sterilized. 
  • Meticulously documenting patient information, medical histories, and care plans within our electronic health records (EHR) system. 
  • Acting as a bridge between patients, surgeons, and other healthcare providers. You'll expertly answer patient questions (within your scope), relay messages, and ensure clear and concise information flow.

CHI Health requires that ALL Medical Assistants / Certified Medical Assistants MUST be a graduate of a medical assisting program accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP)


Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a medical assisting program accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP)
  • Successfully completed Medication Aide 40-hour course or current/valid 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
