At CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy our focus is patient-centered care. Our level I trauma center and academic medical center campus is designed to heal the body mind and spirit of every person in a more comfortable less stressful hospital environment. Our full range of medical services includes trauma services heart and vascular care emergency services surgery maternity cancer care and diagnostic imaging.


Responsibilities

We can’t express enough how important our lab staff is to our mission and calling! In the lab you will be assisting with a variety of procedures. You will be receiving and preparing for the tests as they come in! If you are someone looking to join an amazing culture and community, then we want to talk to you!

Some of what you’ll do:

  • Collects, transports, receives, prepares and accurately tests biological specimens using procedures consistent with safe work practices and proper laboratory technique while maintaining integrity of specimens.
  • Performs waived and moderate complex testing as allowed by CLIA regulations.
  • Critically evaluates specimen integrity. Ensures that lab results fit clinical context for each individual patient’s specimen. Immediately reports testing outside of normal parameters to authorized testing personnel. Communicates and documents test status and results in a timely manner to clinical personnel involved in patient care.
  • Maintains and operates test systems for optimal performance; collaborates with tech or technician to resolve technical issues.

Qualifications

Education/Licensure:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 1 year lab experience preferred.
