This position will work under the direction of the Div. VP of Philanthropy to successfully grow and maintain a comprehensive major gifts program focused on attracting gifts in excess of $10,000. Managing a portfolio of 100-125 major gift donors and high wealth prospects, the Development Director builds strong relationships and actively develops a major giving pipeline of larger gifts and increased revenue. Raising gifts over $10,000, the Development Director is responsible for an annual goal of $1M+.  The Development Director will plan and implement capital campaigns supporting the execution of CHI Health’s strategic plan and fundraising priorities, along with developing compelling engagement strategies to cultivate, solicit and close major gifts. The Development Director will work closely with other members of the Foundation team, impacted clinical teams and communications/marketing team; work with the Board of Directors.

Location: Lakeside Hospital

**Required - Major Gift Experience**

Successfully manage a portfolio of 100-125 individuals, corporations, foundations, donors, and prospects.

    1. Develop and execute cultivation plans, strategies including meeting requests, and metrics to monitor project success in collaboration with the development team and senior leadership.
    2.     Cultivate new prospects through the creation and utilization of effective donor management strategies including grateful patients, service line managers etc.
    3.     Lead in the creation of proposals and grants for prospect meetings and solicitations.
    4.     Devise and direct cultivation and recognition events ensuring donor acknowledgement and naming opportunities, stewardship and, as appropriate, public recognition.
    5. Secure major gifts of $10,000+ to reach an annual goal of $1M. 
    6. Work with the Hospital Community Board to effectively engage the members to support the hospital, strategic initiatives, strengthen relationships in the community, while providing a sense of accomplishment.
    7.     Attend planning meetings, build relationships with hospital leadership including physicians, service line leaders and executives in order to support hospital priorities, the Philanthropy Strategic Plan, with donor intent.
    8.     Through the growth of the Foundation, have the ability to lead and direct others.
    9. Work with the Hospital Community Board to effectively engage the members to support the hospital, strategic initiatives, strengthen relationships in the community, while providing a sense of accomplishment.
    10. Attend planning meetings, build relationships with hospital leadership including physicians, service line leaders and executives in order to support hospital priorities, the Philanthropy Strategic Plan, with donor intent.
    11. Through the growth of the Foundation, have the ability to lead and direct others. 

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree Preferred
