Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Ambulatory Care, you’ll combine direct patient care with leadership, education, and program development. In this role, you’ll serve as a clinical resource and team leader for ambulatory care pharmacy services, partnering with pharmacists, physicians, residents, students, and other healthcare professionals to improve patient care and expand pharmacy services. Approximately 85% or more of the role includes pharmacist/staffing responsibilities, with additional focus on leadership, education, quality improvement, and program development.
- Provide direct pharmacy care and perform staff pharmacist responsibilities.
- Lead and support the ambulatory care pharmacy team.
- Mentor and precept pharmacists, residents, students, interns, and technicians.
- Provide education and training for pharmacy and medical group staff.
- Represent pharmacy on interdisciplinary committees, councils, and workgroups.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and help identify opportunities to enhance patient care.
- Support research, program development, policies, and departmental goals.
- May serve as a Residency Program Director or Coordinator, depending on location.
Required
- Doctor of Pharmacy
- Clinical experience with 3 years of recent direct patient care in the ambulatory care setting
- Nebraska Pharmacist License
