The posted compensation range of $25.05 - $31.47 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Secretary, you will be a vital caregiver and the central hub, assuming responsibility for patient care processes from newborn to geriatric for a designated time frame. You will directly contribute to safe, therapeutic patient care while serving as the primary receptionist and secretary.
Every day you will support safe patient care through multidisciplinary processes and coordinating unit activities. You will efficiently manage information flow and assist healthcare team members in delivering care across all patient age groups.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, a proactive approach to managing day-to-day operations, and a commitment to providing safe, therapeutic care while working effectively with the entire healthcare team.
- Adheres to established Hospital/departmental policies and procedures, objectives, Quality Assessment and Improvement Program, legal, safety, environmental, infection control standards and Patient's Bill of Rights.
- Receives and routes physicians' orders to appropriate areas under the direction of the Registered Nurse per policies and procedures.
- Confers with licensed personnel, assigned to the patient, to schedule patient's activities and tests.
- Performs clerical duties required to maintain the medical record.
- Documents and communicates all appropriate data/information to both intra/interdepartmental personnel.
- Requisitions supplies and equipment, maintenance and repair services and prepares related forms. Keeps stock and equipment inventories.
Required
- High School Graduate or GED
- Minimum one (1) year of medical clerical duties in an acute care environment
- AHA Basic Life Support - CPR
- Fire Safety, within 90 Days
