The posted compensation range of $23.00 - $25.20 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Responsibilities
Patient Transporter - Make a Difference in Patient Care! We are looking for a reliable and caring Patient Transporter to join our team. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of patients and materials throughout the hospital, contributing to a positive patient experience.
- Transports patients as requested by transport dispatcher or supervisor/lead according to priority.
- Acts as transport dispatcher when assigned, communicating instructions to other transporters.
- Demonstrates responsibility for patient safety while in transit.
- Observes standard precautions and uses the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for task.
- Maintains accurate records of all patients, specimens and medications being transported.
- Maintains cleanliness of wheelchairs and gurneys.
- Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings on a consistent basis.
- Consistently uses safety equipment to protect self and others.
- Consistently utilizes proper body mechanics and patient handling techniques.
- Arranges, moves and/or transports furniture, beds, boxes, offices, equipment, supplies, etc., as requested by transport dispatcher or supervisor, according to priority.
- Documents and reports items needing repair and hazardous conditions requiring correction.
- Answers telephones and p agers in a cheerful and courteous manner.
- Transports patients per departmental procedures (ensuring patients are transported as comfortably, courteously, quickly and safely as possible).
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalency required.
- Minimum six months recent work experience in a medical office hospital/ acute care environment required.
- AHA BLS certification required.
- Fire Safety Card within 90 days of hire.
This position is represented by SEIU UHW and covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
