Responsibilities

Patient Transporter - Make a Difference in Patient Care! We are looking for a reliable and caring Patient Transporter to join our team. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of patients and materials throughout the hospital, contributing to a positive patient experience.

  • Transport patients safely and comfortably via wheelchair or gurney.
  • Assist with patient lifting and movement.
  • Dispatch and coordinate other transporters as needed.
  • Maintain patient safety and follow infection control protocols.
  • Keep accurate records and maintain equipment cleanliness.
  • Participate in training and use proper body mechanics.
  • Transport equipment and supplies.
  • Report equipment issues and safety concerns.
  • Answer phones and pages courteously.
  • Perform other related duties.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalency required.
  • Minimum six months recent work experience in a medical office hospital/ acute care environment required.
  • AHA BLS certification required.
  • Fire Safety Card within 90 days of hire.

This position is represented by SEIU UHW and covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
