Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Radiation Tech, you will perform diagnostic imaging procedures, producing high-quality images for accurate diagnosis and treatment, operating complex equipment while ensuring patient safety.
Every day, you will interact with patients, explain procedures, position them correctly, and monitor their well-being. You will also maintain records, adhere to safety protocols, and collaborate with healthcare professionals for optimal care.
To be successful, you need exceptional technical proficiency, understanding of anatomy and imaging, and compassionate patient care.
- Responsible for technical knowledge of Radiation Oncology.
- Responsible for upkeeping all stock and par levels in the Radiation Oncology.
- Delivers the prescribed planned course of Radiation Therapy accurately with minimal supervision.
- Checks prescription, diagnosis, and patient identification.
- Reinforces the Radiation Oncologist's advice to the patient regarding reactions to treatment and their care.
- Prepares room and equipment for patient according to prescription regarding immobilization devices, shield size, treatment distance, lead protection devices, etc.
- Transfers patient safely to treatment couch by physically assisting them, giving special care to catheters, intravenous drips, etc.
- Checks daily treatment, monitors unit setting, and delivers prescribed dose.
Required
- Registered Technologist, Nuclear Medicine Technology or
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist
- AHA Basic Life Support - CPR
- Fluoroscopy Radiology Tech: CA
- Fire Safety, within 90 Days and
Preferred
- Other Completion of JRCERT-approved program in Radiation Therapy
- Minimum 1 year of Radiation Therapy experience
- Registered Radiation Therapy Technologist: CA or
- Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT
