Patient Registration Rep - Chemotherapy Clinic

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Patient Registration Rep to join our healthcare team. The Patient Registration Rep is responsible for accurately and efficiently registering patients for medical services obtaining necessary information and ensuring a positive patient experience. - Greet patients and visitors and provide excellent customer service.
- Accurately and efficiently register patients for medical services including verifying patient information and insurance coverage.
- Obtain necessary information such as medical history medications allergies and other related information from patients and ensure that all information is entered correctly into the electronic health record
- Assist patient in filling out the necessary paperwork
- Collect copays and outstanding balances at the time of service and provide patients with receipts
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive the appropriate care
Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in hospital or outpatient clinic financial screening and appeals processes is required.
- Recent experience in obtaining authorizations for complex services is required.
- Outpatient experience in women's health services or family practice is preferred.
- Proficiency in Cerner AS400 DISCAL SSI Teletracking, Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
- Knowledgeable in managed care group workers? compensation, Medicare Medi-Cal admission requirements.
- Strong ability to interpret contractual guidelines.
- Mathematical aptitude.
- Bilingual preferred (Spanish/English).
- Must maintain current Fire Safety cards.
This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
